Specialist of custom-made safaris

Ekipa travel was created to share our passion for travel. Head over heels in love with our home country, Namibia, it is our prime goal to help you discover its wonders.

Traveling slowly, taking the time to appreciate and “soak in” the places you discover. It is important to highlight that you will have a personal designer that will be your representative from the moment you contact us, to when you come home. We are a local one-stop shop with no middleman, focusing on personalised service.

With years of local experience in creating and organising safaris, we understand no trip is the same and adapt each safari to your needs.

Everything in Africa bites, but the Safari bug is the worst of all.

OUR PHILISOPHY

Safari… A word that evokes magic, wouldn't you agree? The Swahili word for Journey, it is very fitting to have a specific word for an “African Journey”. As anyone that has traveled to Africa will tell you :

Everything in Africa bites, but the Safari bug is the worst of all – Brian Jackman

You are the artisan of your own Safari, allow us to guide you along the way and share our extensive knowledge of the destination.  At Ekipa we strive to make every Safari magical, that is why all our Safaris are tailormade to your desires. This means that together we will create the trip of your dreams.

I grew up in a family of travellers and the tourism world. My parents decided to move to Namibia in 1996, to become one of the pioneering tour operators in Namibia. Thus, began the best childhood one could have hoped for, filled with weekends camping in the bush and discovering the most beautiful spots of Namibia.

As a teenager I travelled all over Namibia participating in long-distance horse-riding competition and then worked for a while as a horse-riding guide, I can definitely say it’s my favourite way to enjoy Namibia’s landscapes and approach its fauna.

I now have a family of my own and enjoy sharing my favourite childhood spots with my children knowing all the nature adventures they experience are the best food for soul, whether its playing in the Namib sand or learning about the animals and to recognise their tracks.

What we offer

HOW WILL MY SAFARI BE ORGANISED?

Choosing to go to an unknown, off the beaten path destination can be daunting, that is why we are here to guide you every step of the way in the creation of your personalized itinerary.

First of all, take the time to browse our website and soak in the possibilities. The next step will be to contact us, we will then get back to you and organised a phone call to discuss in depth what your needs and wishes are or if you prefer, we will contact you by email.

From there we will send you a bespoke itinerary and make all the reservations, bookings and arrangements once you have approved, your trip.

At Ekipa Travel one of our main objectives is to organise trips that will not only rank in the top 10 of your life travels but to ensure they are done in a respectful way for both the environment and the people sharing the land with the fauna. We strongly believe that travellers can have a positive impact on the places they visit by joining forces with handpicked projects that protect the environment its fauna and flora as well as empower local people by creating learning and job opportunities and ecological awareness.

Most say “take only memories, leave only footprints” we like to take it one step further, by making a contribution for every person that travels with us to our favourite project: Sijwa (see project information here)

It is our responsibility as Travel specialist to create awareness about the conservation and economic challenges we face locally and how our travellers can help give back if they wish after or during their trip.

Responsible travel is not just conservation projects or supporting schools. It is also making sure that while you travel you care for the environment you are discovering. Using reusable water bottles, planting a tree to offset carbon footprint and simple things like traveling with a light tote bag and refuse plastic bags in petrol station shops or supermarkets, or refusing plastic straws.
